Welcome to the OAAV Website & Greetings to all Anandians

The Old Anandians Association of Victoria, Australia, is a voluntary benevolent association of the past pupils of Ananda College now living in Australia. The inaugural meeting of the Association was held on 6 March 1994 and the meeting was jointly declared open by Mr Chandra Jayawardene the most senior Old Anandian in Victoria and Mr D.B. Kuruppu a much loved and respected former techer at Ananda. At this meeting a steering committee was formed to formalise the Association. Membership of the Association is open to all past pupils of Ananda College living in Australia and the current membership is well over 400.

Objectives

The broad based objectives of the Association is to help and assist in the development of the Alma Mater, foster fellowship and brotherhood amongst all old Anandians, and to uphold and cultivate diligence (appamada) as enshrined in the Alma Mater motto, and promote diligence in servicemanship, generosity and charitability.

Administration

The administration of the Association is by an executive committee of twelve members elected annually by the members. We would be pleased to hear from any Old Anandians and well wishers from around Australia who would like to join the Association or help us in any way, how ever small it may be. The members who have participated in any of our functions would testify that it has been tremendous fun to meet up with fellow Anandians and exchange yarns of the good old school days. So please do contact any of the committee members.
