Dec 8: Christmas party and Family night

Our annual Christmas party and Family night will be held on Saturday 8th December 2018. Bring your families and friends to join an enjoyable evening for the kids and adults in the company of Sergei the magician, a special visit from Santa and live music by “Hurricane”.

If you would like Santa to present your kids with a small gift, please remember to bring your wrapped gift for your child (with their name on it) and hand it over to one of Santa’s helpers, so Santa will make sure to deliver it to them.

Price: Adults - $25
Children (5 yrs – 12 yrs) - $15

Nov 24: Founders Day Alms Giving

Our first major OAAV event for the year is the Annual Alms Giving, to commemorate the Founding Fathers of Ananda College. As a tradition, we have continued and celebrated this event for many years. This year too, we are happy and proud to celebrate this great event.

Date: 24th of November 2018 (Saturday)
Time: 9.00am onwards
Venue:  Dhammadeepa Meditation Centre (Dandenong)
43 Hemmings Street, Dandenong.

We would love to see you and your family members participate in this meritorious event. Your generous contribution and active participation is solicited. It would also be much appreciated if you could assist in any way with the dane menu by undertaking to provide any of the listed menu items and/or wish to offer a pirikara to the priest, and/or a donation to the temple.

Sep 22: Blessing for the new committee

As a tradition the newly appointed OAAV committee will participate in a bodhi pooja at the Dandenong temple on Wednesday evening.

We would be delighted to see you participate in this event with us. Please remember to bring flowers and offerings for the pooja.

Sep 22: AGM

The Annual General Meeting for the year 2018/2019 will be held on Saturday the 22nd of September. 

The details of the AGM are as follows,

As per Rule 15 of the OAAV Constitution, the members who are proposing and seconding and the nominees must be financial members of the Association and all nominations must be sent to the Secretary to the address given below at least 14 days before the date of the Annual General Meeting.

Aug 18: Blood Donation

The Annual Blood donation campaign will take place this year on Saturday 18th August, at the Mt. Waverley Donor Centre.
We have been allocated 15 slots starting from 9:45 am. 

If you are keen on donating blood or plasma, can you please check the time slots below and let Tyrone (Tyrone (0417 382 660) know the time slot, your name, mobile number and Donor ID (if you already have one) so your slot can be booked on a first-in-first served basis.

February 16: Dhamma Talk by Ven Hanguranketha Chandarathana Thero, the former Deputy Principal of Ananda College

As most of you are aware, Ven Hanguranketha Chandarathana Thero, the former Deputy Principal of Ananda College has currently taken residence at the Dhammasarana Temple in Keysborough.

Ven Hanguranketha Chandarathana Thero will be conducting a Dhamma talk, followed by a discussion about Ananda College on February 16th, 2018.

Two of our former OAAV Presidents Rukman Wimalasuriya and Bandula Welungoda have kindly taken lead in organising this event. We would love to invite all Anandians and well-wishers in Melbourne to attend this meritorious event.

Jan 7: Special Mathaka Wasthra Pujawa/Memorial Service to pay tribute to late Mr. Sanjeewa Abeygunawardene a committee member of the 2017/18 OAAV Executive Committee

With immense sadness the OAAV committee has organised a special pujawa to invoke blessings to late Sanjeewa Abeygunawardene at the Dhammadeepa Meditation Centre Dandenong on the 7th of January 2018 from 6.00pm onwards.

Sanjeewa was a helmsman in the College rowing team and studied at Monash University & University of Melbourne since leaving the College in 2007. Sanjeewa was working as an Engineer in Melbourne at the time of his sudden demise. Our thought and prayers are with his family and friends at this sad period of time.

Please join us in this meritorious event to pay tribute to our fellow Anandian.

Celebrating another year as it draws to a close, we thought it would be worthy for all of us to gather with our families and friends one final time. It will be an entertaining and enjoyable evening for the kids and adults in the company of Sergei the magician, a special visit from Santa and heaps of entertaining music from the band "Blossoms".

Nov 19: Inter-School Indoor 6-A-Side Cricket Tournament

Ananda College OBA is participating in the inaugural 6- A-Side Indoor Cricket Tournament organised by the Royal College OBA.
We would love for you to come and cheer on our boys, as they battle it out with the rest of the 12 school OBA teams.

Relive day of fast paced action, youthful exuberance friendly rivalry and sportsmanship we all experienced between our great schools back home. This is a kid's friendly event with kids activities.
